OpenAI's Images 2.5 is now in the Woopicx model picker, under the name GPT Image 2.5 Flare. It replaces both GPT Image 2 and GPT Image 1.5 — one entry where there used to be two.
Those two existed because transparency used to be a property of the model you chose. One always cut the background out, the other never did, and you had to know which was which before you typed anything. Flare does both, so that decision moved out of the picker and into the request itself.
Transparency Without Choosing a Model
Ask for it in plain words: "draw a calendar icon on a transparent background", "a sticker of a dog, no background", "remove the background". Icons, stickers and logo marks come out cut out by default, since that is nearly always what they are for.
The other way is editing. Drop in a PNG that already has transparency and whatever comes back keeps it. Recolor an icon, reshape it, add a detail — the empty background stays empty, with clean edges and inner gaps preserved. This is the part that used to be unreliable: the model we previously used for transparency tended to wash out images that were already cut out.
Photos, scenes, posters and mockups keep their backgrounds. Asking to brighten a product photo will not quietly cut the subject away from it.
When to Use It
Nanobanana 2 stays the default and remains the quicker option for everyday work. Reach for Flare when you need a clean cut-out or a careful edit.
How to Switch
Open chat, click the model name above the prompt box, and pick GPT Image 2.5 Flare.
Or leave the picker on Auto. When a request calls for a transparent background, Auto sends it to Flare on its own.
